LDS Young Women Values printables

I just finished a set of printables for LDS Young Women.  I designed a print for each value (faith, divine nature, etc) and also included the value statement for each one.  I love how they turned out!

I think it would be so fun to have all 8 displayed around the Young Women's room, or change a frame weekly or monthly that has one in it to display during lessons.

You could also use them during New Beginnings or Young Women in Excellence.  Either in frames, or mounted on a piece of styrafoam foam core and displayed on easels.

These ones are 8x10 in size.  Soon I will also have a set of 4x6 sized ones available so you can print a set for each girl in your program.

They are available in my etsy shop HERE.  It is only $15 for the entire set of 8 printables!

Thanks for pinning, sharing, and enjoying!

Kindness { with free printables }

Kindness...
 download here

Lately, I have been thinking a LOT about kindness and how important it is to be kind, to everyone, no matter who it is.

As I was working on projects a bit ago, I came across some notes I had made last year, preparing for a talk I gave at church.  The subject was using kind words.

As I have pondered and thought about some of the people I admire most in this world, one of the strongest attributes they share is their kindness.  Kindness to people who have hurt them, kindness to people who probably don't deserve it, kindness to people they love, kindness to everyone they cross paths with.

This is something I am working on.  I do better some days than others... I am working on it though.  I want my children to be able to learn kindness from me.  Someday, when I have passed from this life, I hope it will be said of me that I was kind.

In the notes from my old talk, I found some beautiful quotes.  I made some of them into free printables for you (8x10 size, link to download a high resolution version, suitable for printing is beneath each one).

A few other thoughts and quotes that I had jotted down:

Kind thoughts are the beginning of kind words and actions.

From Roald Dahl:  "A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly.  You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick out teeth but if you have good thoughts, they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely."

View your life with KINDSIGHT -- stop beating yourself up.  Instead of slapping your forehead and asking: "what was I thinking?" -- breathe and ask yourself the kinder question, "what was I learning?"  (I found this on a blog, here)

I hope they help each of us remember to be a little kinder, to be a little more forgiving, to be a little quicker to give the benefit of the doubt to someone, to be a little more like our Savior Jesus Christ.

Allred Family Photos

Also while in Star Valley, I got to take my sister's family portraits.  I have just barely started editing, but these are a few I have done that I love!  These guys were such troopers - I think we stirred up a mosquito nest at our first location - we were all eaten alive, but you wouldn't even know it, the girls were so perfect still!

I love taking pictures of people I love!

SO sweet!

Don't worry, this is just a sneak peak - there will be more to come of this fun session!

8-year-old Baptism Photos

My family and I just spent a week up in beautiful Star Valley Wyoming.  I grew up there, but I totally didn't appreciate the beautifulness that surrounded me.  Now, having been gone from there for a LOT of years (I just realized if my graduating class does a 15 year reunion, it will be next year!WHAT?!?!), and living in the dry sagebrushy desert of southern and central Utah, I miss it, and every time I go home, I am amazed at the little piece of heaven that lies between those mountains!
While there, I got to take pictures of my niece, Liz.  She is turning 8 in a couple of weeks, and needed some portraits taken in her baptism dress.  Her extremely talented mom (with some help from our mom) sewed it.  (if you want to learn more about baptism and the LDS faith, click here)

Her big dream was to have a picture recreating the "Three White Dresses" poem (blessing dress, baptism dress, and wedding/temple dress).  This is what we came up with.  I love it!

It is so great to be eight!

July Visiting Teaching Handout

Wow!  Well, did June fly by in a blur for anyone else, or was it just at our house?  I totally loved the 4th of July and celebrating our country's independence, but it definitely didn't register fully in my mind that it was July and time for a new Visiting Teaching handout.  Better a few days late than never, right?  :)

I got going on these and ended up doing three versions of the message on teaching and learning the gospel (the full message can be found here).

Each is uploaded in full resolution at the link provided.
Thanks for printing, pinning, sharing, and enjoying!
